Swedish architect Nils Strinning (1917–2006) was one of the leading mid-twentieth century designers who built the foundation of what we now call “Scandinavian design”

The line of String Furniture contains shelving systems that are incredibly practical while remaining light weight and stable.  The side panels are easy to mount while the shelves can be put where ever desired.  The frame acts as book ends while the different depth shelves can be used as needed.  Adding more shelves can be done whenever needed.  The String design has been winning international awards since the first product came out in 1949.  The functional yet minimal design combined with an attention to detail has made the distinctive String shelves an iconic product that resonates today much the same as it did 50 years ago.  Classic yet contemporary .
